Should I send a ‘Thank You’ message anyway

I had an interview for a Payroll Specialist position on Friday, October 12 and this morning when I logged into the company’s portal, I saw that my status had changed from “applied’ to ‘under consideration’. I was planning to send them a ‘Thank You’ email tomorrow to reaffirm my interest in the position but since they’re already considering me maybe I shouldn’t send the email after all? Please advise.

My suggestion is "always" send a thank you email or card to whomever you interview with. Whether you're hired or not has nothing to you with being grateful for anyone taking the time to interview with you. Please remember, they have options too and chose to bring "you" in for an interview even if it was among others as well.

Always send a thank you note regardless whether you get the position or not. One never knows if another position opens up and due to your profiessional approach with the thank you note that position might get offered to you. The idea is to stay positive at all times. Good luck.
