Is this for real!!!!?
I spent 3 weeks doing an interview with a Pharma Company, went through all the stages, phone interview, F2F with the hiring Manager, F2F with her manager and it all went perfectly. At the end, the recruiter representing me was told by the Pharma Company's HR department that they wanted to bring me on board. I was totally excited. On their part after each F2F meeting the Hiring Manager and her boss/manager told me the same and asked me about my availability. I was so excited. Two days later I got a call from another recruiter about the same job with the same company. I was shocked so I immediately called the recruiter representing me and she said she just heard that they were passing on the position...... All I could say is OMG is this for real!!!! Someone please tell me why do employers do that?

I’m glad it’s not just me. I applied for a company directly, was told I’d start last week, a day before got an email saying the training group was full and I could start in October.
I saw they listed new openings on their site for the same job? So confused, I applied for it just incase it was a different job since apparently they seemed overstaffed for the one I wanted. Low and behold it’s for the same position. To make it worse they reached out wanting to do an interview lol for the same job I’m apparently already supposedly going to get. So I’m good enough for two separate interviews but not good enough to hire.

Had it happen twice this year. Not pharma but literally everything else you said. I'm an experienced (10yrs) transportation manager and I had the same stuff (edited) happen. Seen it with a cpl other ppl also. I don't get it.

Sounds like something I've heard before... applied for a fast food restaurant, interviewed and hired, according to the manager I interviewed with. Day after interview her father got sick and was admitted to hospital - the following week I was scheduled to finish the hiring paperwork and start after near 4 months of being unemployed, and jumping for joy I finally got a fking job. I went in as I was directed with ID and social security card needed to finalize the hiring paperwork, on time and everything. Was told about her situation that her father was ill the past week and eventually passed, which is understandable, gave my condolences and left a number she could call, which they said she would most likely be back the following Monday (from Thurs I went in). I checked back after not receiving a call or anything from them, the manager lady who hired me said "Well, not sure you were notified but I was out of work with a personal issue..." - of course I informed her and cut her off there and again personally gave my condolences as I explained they informed me, then she continues on "...so I was gone for over a week dealing with funeral preparations and so, they overhired while I was gone, but we still have your application on file..." so wait, you mean to tell me, a homeless man at the time, because I got an eviction notice posted on my door and such, that you hired me, but a bunch of other people were hired during the time and no one was notified that I was supposed to come in, because that was an entire bunch of BS, excited to be back to work, pay my bills up to date soon after and get off the streets... and fkd out of a job because they called in other people, after I stopped in twice during that time and left a message for management and hiring personnel with name/phone number, etc. and was ignored... fk my life though, shit needs to go back to 1980-1995 or so still able to walk in a business, pick up a broom and start cleaning and helping a manager organize or stock shelves and just randomly be offered employment instead of this 2019 "we'll call you back if we feel like it, but we're still going to advertise this job position on 20 different websites and state job board unemployment website for months with daily or weekly updates to the post - and deny you anyways after all the work and successful hiring interview(s) with multiple managers, welcome back to being jobless and hope you enjoy being homeless!!" Shit is just absurd.

Get in touch with the Better Business Bureau and see what you can do especially if you have any emails from them that's unreal . That's messing with you psychologically not cool at all !!!!!

Did you fill the position they we're looking for?

Patience I too had an interview with a Pharma company in May,2019. I had a F2F with the Manager. Per information this was a new department being formulated. The Orientation was to start the third week of June and last for 8 weeks. After the orientation the position was 2 days in the office and three days WFH. Every third weekend (Saturday & Sunday) working from home. I too was told by the Manager and Company Recruiter that I was a good fit for the company as well as, for the new department being formed. Well , the in the end and after calling the recruiter every other day for almost two weeks I was told they were going on a “ different “ direction. I was asked to continue to keep in touch as per the recruiter as there would be other positions in the same department in the near future. Since my communication with the recruiter I have been contacted by two other agency recruiters in regards to the same Pharma company for the same position with more money per hour. In the midst of this experience I have secured another career which works better for me and my husband. I enjoy my main profession but, I have been given an opportunity to start a new profession for my personal development. Adding new experience to my resume. Be open minded . Many blessings with your new professional horizons.

More than we know, particuliar ppl are staffed in H.R. positions who can display a cordial, professional and smart exterior, even cold and stern if need be, however, behind closed and combination locked doors those same ppl got their own personal problems. They can get confused, they can misplace documents, may be behind in progress, some companies' H.R. really have no knowledge of what is currently taking place in the office nor throughout the business. They may have recently filled the position they are in and cannot very well represent company and it's history accurately. Certainly, you the interviewee can be mislead all because of a box of rocks. Please do not take it personal. Ask GOD and His Angels to guide you to the job that IS WAITING FOR YOU. I Wish for You Success, Too.

Unfortunately and sadly they can good luck I hope u find something and so sorry about your experience

That was unfair too you in what they did when things don't work out in our favor god has something else better in store for us but through it all i do wish you good luck in finding a better job that suit you. and don't be discouraged .
First, my empathy to you. I went through a similar situation once that was not pleasant AT ALL.....having said that, it may be that the recruiting co. had a behind-the-scene relational issue with the co. unknown to you. Also beware, many companies just "fill up the pool" of candidates and have them keep coming back while they have their ideal candidate picked out already, because they have to "follow all the regulations" of hiring practice. Many HR recruiters will tell you this, the gov. will ding them for bad hiring practice during an audit if they are not following all the protocol, so guess what, they get to waste your time and money, and of course have you excited for nothing, while they knew all along they were not going to pick you.....it's how it is.
