Finding a job is work. Finding the "RIGHT" job is hard work! Here are some tips that can make it easier:

  1. Put in the initial time in creating your resume, cover letter and supporting documentation. Save each word file as pdf'"s so you can easily combine documents to upload as much USEFUL information about yourself on individual sites. PDFMerge is free. It's easy and worth the effort as each site varies in quantity and sizes that are allowable to upload. . (Damn IT Tech's LOL) If you don't have a version of ADOBE to convert the documents, I'm sure there are free sites for that too I just didn't take the time to look. It was just convenient for me to purchase SODApdf as it was very inexpensive and I use it all the time to protect the integrity of my documents. (If you are trying to copy/paste word documents you are wasting a lot of extra time better spent on applying for jobs)
  2. Create a generic cover letter. You can easily modify it to particular jobs if you want to but once we get into the next step you will understand the logic.
  3. Once you have created your documentation, your profiles will be easy to create. I recommend setting up your profiles on personal accounts such as LINKEDIN, FACEBOOK and TWITTER as many companies and JOB SEARCH Engines :) offer links to them and it a one n done.
  4. JOBCASE Is one of my favorites because it is easy to use and any of them that offer the QUICK APPLY feature allows you to mass market yourself and increase your chances for interviews.

That's my 2 cents worth today Good luck!

Hello Susan you mentioned something on item 1 about saving time on that immediately caught my attention. I'm not that tech savvy so I can't make out your instructions on saving profile and resume information in pdf formate. Is there a book or website I can find step by step instructions to do what your suggesting? Thank you
