I have found that for remote customer service jobs, you have to have at least 2 years experience. My experience is over 40 years and I have been in an office setting for over 20 years. I never look for contract work or companies that want you to use your own computer when you are working for them. You need good phone etiquette, be able to work under pressure, be an active listener, and stay focused. You have to show empathy and treat everyone the way that you want to be treated.

Active listening and assuring the customer by providing a brief synopsis to clarify what they are needing. Unless it’s totally obvious what they need. Value each person with a fresh start.

All the above what M Martinez mention, also need to efficient in Software , Ten Key will help. Knowledge of Keyboard. Spelling, typing. These items are essential to Customer Service. Whenever you start a Customer Service Job and you encounter a Disgruntled Customer, put the customer call on mute, take a deep breath. You never want to say unprofessional. Be kind. Have ever heard that old saying " kindness kills the cat" and it's from the Bible Gal 5:22 On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 mildness, self-control. Utilize these things and the Customer will think twice and you have a Customer for life.
