Job Employment

I heard and read Walmart has a veteran program and hires veterans. I am a veteran of the Navy and the National Guard. I have apply to Walmart 3/4 times in the last year and no response? How does one get to the next step after submitting an application?

Hello Brent,

I called the Morrisville, NC location this morning and spoke to Sabrina, (HR Specialist), regarding the Walmart Welcome Home Commitment program specifically designed for veteran applicants. I explained that you had applied multiple times with no response so she looked up your name in the system but unfortunately was unable to find your application. She suggest that you apply online via the following link (http://www.walmartcareerswithamission.com/why-walmart/veterans-welcome-home-commitment/) and register your information to begin the application process. After you select your desired location/store you will have the option to select a position from the list of available positions at that store. The online application process takes about one hour to complete.

Once your application is processed and received she will seek available opportunities and contact you for an interview if there is an opening. Note - you may want to apply to more than one store if you can manage the commute.

I would also recommend a visit to the store to meet the manager and hand him/her your resume personally. They seem very committed to placing every veteran applicant through this initiative so I would encourage you to complete the online application process soon and pursue this opportunity.

Follow-up with me and share your experience.

Best of Luck!
