Job search advice
I have been a at home mom with little job experience large gaps in employment now my children are grown I feel displaced and don't know what to put on my applications , I have been a auctioneer at goodwill. I worked at a coffee shop/bakery, kmart automotive dept, Toys r us from pre opening -grand opening, most recently voulenteered my time as a home health care aid for a in need neighbor. Yet my employment is so spuratic im lost when it comes to the application of previous employment. When im able to land a job I devote myself to the fullest yet I'm 51 now and employers don't give me the opportunity to prove my self as a valuable asset to their companies. Please help for the people over 50 that are looking to eagerly reenter the workplace .
Hello Devor, Thank you for being a part of our Jobcase community! It looks like you have some really good experience listed on your profile. I think you can definitely use those when applying for new positions and in the gaps let them know you were a stay at home mom taking care of your children. I would then recommend following up on as many applications as you can by calling the companies 1-2 days after you submit them to make sure they received the applications.
