Interview Appearance

Posting again! Sorry, just feel like I got a lot to say.

This time about interviews. And all thanks to seeing someone come into work today for an interview with one of my bosses.

While we dress casual at Harbor Freight, (jeans and a Harbor Freight tshirt, even management is pretty casual) I winced as I saw the new interview come in as I was leaving the office. Raggy jeans, tshirt, and hair messy.

One of the worst things you can do for an interview, is not dressing for it. Doesn't matter how casual the company may be, don't dress down for an interview. Appearances are important. Dress nicely. Slacks (or skirt, good shirt, hair groomed. Look professional and not like you got out of bed. Sometimes it doesn't matter how good your resume is.. if you don't take the effort to look nice at an interview, they are going to assume you don't take effort in other things and immediately discard your application.

So remember, make that effort. Even if this your fiftieth interview and you're tired of going on interviews that don't seem to go anywhere. Dress well and look good.

This is great advice, Ashley! It's always good to dress up for an interview - first impressions do count!

Sorry for being stubborn, but it seriously does matter the way you dress. ( Sometimes)
