FIGHTING UNEMPLOYMENT
Well folks I lost again, my old mean boss won over me in the unemployment issue for the 3rd time by lieing under oath. So I am done trying to fight him. i just cant believe how my life has turned into such a disaster and I cant even get work. I applied online last night at t few places and one place gave me an assessment test to take and it consisted of something that should of only taken me 25min but I did not even know what I was doing. there was no instructions I finally figured out a few of the answers. I dont get it now you have to pass these tests even before you get an interview. that is not going to happen with me I was in school over 35 years ago I dont remember anything like these tests.
I might go back to housecleaning cause honestly these assessments are hard.
Thank you for letting me vent. anybody who can offer me some suggestions I am all ears please.

I understand it can be hard, but if you would like to work from home I suggest Sykes. You have to meet the home office requirements, but it is a decent job and you never have to leave home! https://www.alpineaccessjobs.com/ Good luck and take care...

Renee: I am so sorry that you lost your unemployment hearing. But maybe that is a sign that it is time to let go of the past and start looking forward. It is really easy to get discouraged when a lot of bad things have happened.
The key is to find a position that is a good fit for you. If you find a position in an area that really interest you - and in an area in which will allow you to use your talents - you will be able to use your gifts. When you have a job where you are using your gifts - you will be happy and will naturally do well. Have you identified what your talents are interests are? If you are not sure, you can take some assessments (there are many on-line for free) to find out what these are. Then you can look for a position in an area that you know you will use your talents. This will be one that you enjoy AND one in which you will be great! So you will naturally be successful!
Most of all, don't get down on yourself. You are perfect just the way you are.
Good luck! You have got this!

You might have to get assistance from the state you live in until you can get a job. Some jobs get some kind of perk or credit if they hire someone on state assistance.

I'm sorry you're having a tough time lately. Renee. But don't get discouraged. I know that's way easier said than done. But I think it's very good that you are now looking forward instead of fighting past problems. The economy is pretty strong right now so you'll have lots of chances but fact is that it's a numbers game. usually we all need to go through a field of "nos" before getting to the yes we want. It's not just your experience. But if u hang in there and keep at it, u can get it done. As for the school testing issue. It's never too late to top up in some skills. Places like khan academy, code academy., udemy and many others offer lotsa opps for those - most free. Hope you remake a beautiful sept Sunday to relax. Then hug the ground running tmw. U can do this- and I hope you find value in the tools and community that is Jobcase. It's never easy entering a new chapter in your wirklife, but it's attainable and so satisfying once u get there Good luck and know u have a lot of jobcasers rooting for you!! Fred
Its not been that long since I was in school but sure do miss the days of just sending my resume by fax or applying in person. Much better chance then now. I am working a temp job and never thought I would still be there. Its very hard on my voice and back. Interviewed probably 20 places. Dress nice, ask all the right questions and follow up just like they say and still don't get the job. I feel your pain. I can't get unemployment when I am done because I nannied before this and even though I claimed it on my taxes I don't think I can can claim as work. I hate how they ask very personal questions as if its their business in interview if I am married or have a child. That has nothing to do with if I can do job or not. Even if I was single I still have family and if something happened to my mom I would take off to care for her. I am having to say I will work for crap money and I have a college degree. Its ridiculous. These 2 apes running for president want to make difference tell me how are they going to make this economy even out? A person needs to make a living wage.
