Prayers Needed

I was laid off in January. Since then I decided to take the time to get some much desired certifications. By August I should have a PMP, CCBA, ITIL and SSGB to add to my CSM. I will also have taken advance courses in MS Project, Excel and MySQL.

I am praying, and asking you all to pray, that I took the right direction. I have OTJ training but lacked certifications that seemed to be required for the positions of IT Project Coordinator or IT Project Manager.

For those of you that don't know, the government has a program called WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act) that have funded my training to a total cost of almost $10k. I say take a chance at retooling. I believe it can only help in my job search. I found out about WIOA when I filed for my unemployment. I have a great career coach and am thankful for this opportunity.

If you know of jobs, please share.

Praise Report! I interviewed for a Project Coordinator position on Monday @ 9:30am and received a call with an offer before noon. I am needed immediately so I've pushed through the background check (passed) and the drug screen (waiting). I don't anticipate a drug screen problem unless the ONE DRINK I had Friday night counts against me. Anyway, I am being scheduled to start work on Tuesday. The best part is that I will be working remote...meaning from home.

Thank you all for your prayers. I had interviewed for a position that seemed perfect for me and it didn't happen. While I was waiting I looked at some reviews and they were not favorable for that company so I dodged a bullet. I'm thankful for this position and opportunity.

Wow... and you questioned my job skills when it comes to working with women. That's okay, I'll pray for you anyway because God teaches us to not judge others, or hold bitterness towards others or we will be just like them, so I forgive you and wish you the best on finding a job.

Linda,

Congratulations on acquiring your certifications. I myself would like to have my PMP one of these days and wish my MS Project and Excel skills were advanced. Project Management is in great demand and your certifications and those courses should get you a position in no time. Post your resume on the job boards and reach out to recruiters. Even contract jobs within PM pays well (at least here in NY) and they build your PM skills; I speak from experience. The contract jobs I had led me to acquire a full time position recently. Keep searching because you have a skill set that is in high demand. I wish you the best of luck and would love to hear the outcome.
