Job scams/ so hard to find a decent job these days

Hey everyone,

So i am a hard working girl, I have been doing supervisor/operations work, and work my ass off at every job I have. I have great references from all my bosses, and other higher ups that I've worked with in my last few jobs. I am now trying to move into a different type of occupation other than working in the SUD/mental health field, I need a mental break from doing this type of work.. as it can be emotionally draining, and I also want to just find what I would really like to do more of as a career. I thought working in treatment would be my career goals, but I would like to work in a different medical/ clerical or administrative work. I have a good resume and have been applying for jobs like crazy on indeed and ziprecruiter, but I have had the worst luck. I keep getting these bs interviews and calls for interviews, or emails.... and these places don't even explain what the job really entails... and when I ask which position it is for, they always say costumer service, which really means sales of some sort... like door to door, or cold calling, and usually some type of pyramid scheme.

I have been working in administrative/office and operational work for years, I have a strong skill set, and honestly I think it's so crappy that I get a bunch of bogus interviews.... It is so hard trying to move into a different type of line of work after working in treatment the last few years, I have had to work at temp jobs, and take major pay cuts.... and I am scared to apply to jobs online these days, because they all feel fake or like a scam to get my information. Anyway, I am done ranting.... just a frustrated human trying to get a job I deserve.

Hi Brittney S. , making a career transition these day's is serious challenge. The application tracking systems, fake job leads and impersonal recruiting tactics employers use to attract potential candidates is flawed.

But don't let any of these or other factors discourage you because accomplishing your goal is possible. How you present yourself on paper (resume) first then on interviews is crucial.

You mention an interest in some sort of clerical/admin job within the healthcare industry but can you be more specific? What does an ideal job look like for you? What are some of the new job titles you have been exploring?

I took a quick look at your resume and, your right, you have a number of previous work experience and skills employers would be interested in.

The first two lines of your work experience include the key word (sales) more than one time which is the reason you're being contacted for sales jobs. Auto (online application tracking systems) pick up on these keywords and instantly associate your experience to sales & service jobs.

You may need to customize your resume and application profiles to meet the specific jobs you're pursuing based on the keywords listed on the job descriptions in order to attract more attention to the 'real' jobs you want. We can help you with this.

Share at least 2 job title descriptions of the new career jobs you would be interested and I'll compare/match them up to your profile then identify the keywords you should include on your resume to rate higher during the online application process.

Again, don't get discouraged! You already have all the right stuff to make a career change. All you need is another job search strategy.

Hope this message finds you well. Thanks
