I would say YES Susan, but be aware that they just closed down the Georgetown store, out Lexington way. Contact the main (central) branch or HR department for KY to get a better picture of their situation. Sometimes stores fail because of poor management, other times it's logistics...not having the desired merchandise when the consumer wants it, that reduces store traffic and revenues. And most times it is both. Tell them how much you've learned regarding the day-to-day practices and policy's which make a Dollar General store function. And that although you expect to be brought back in a lower management position. You are also grateful for the opportunities to hire and train staff as well. Confidence is more than half the battle. Stores here only pay $10.00 hourly, whereas in CA most people start at $12.00. Remember to accept what is offered before negotiating a higher pay scale. I am not their regional VP of Marketing, but I assure you, they are having headaches trying to figure which stores will do well and which may succumb to other low-cost substitute product provider's. In either case, you sound like the type of person who should be building their brand. And the best place for you to do that, is inside of one of their stores. Best to you, and turn this note into an elevator pitch, leaving the OCD out of it. Respectfully, Philip M Brockman
