Beware of replies from ZipRecruiter
I applied to several jobs today on ZipRecuiter. I recived a reply from Connie Dixon saying she was getting back to me about the office assistant job I had applied to. The email went on to say that they would send me a check for buying supplies for foster kids. Pay was $650 a week for 3 days. 15-20 hours. She wanted my phone number and adress and would get back to. The email had to no business name nor did it have her title. I replied to her gmail account asking the name if the company ( since that's what she emailed me with) and it bounced back saying it was not a valid email. I know we are all looking for jobs, but just be careful.

I don't believe this is a Ziprecruiter problem as much as it is hackers hacking into these websites looking for opportunities to take advantage of people in vulnerable, at times desperate, life situations.
I received the same phishing crap from a company that said they were responding to my post from Indeed.com. Like Ziprecruiter, Indeed.com is a reputable job search website. I've never joined nor posted ANYTHING on Indeed.com.
Was "Connie's" message to you, outside Ziprecruiter (direct to you via your email) or was it within? If it was outside that's a RED flag. If you can't find the communication thread in the site that that person is supposedly referring to, it's crap, and they're just looking to rip - you - off.
I suggest you forward Connie's info to Zip recruiter. They need to be aware of these fakes. And never respond to these types of messages without first confirming their origin.
Also, ANY "opportunity" that asks for or expects the slightest personal information from you so they can "help" you - IS CRAP. Entertaining these can put your entire world at risk.
