HELP!!! Temp position KILLING ME!
Working a potential temp-to-hire IT position, but environment is deplorable. I cannot take any time off to schedule interviews, etc., and am frankly being degraded personally on a daily basis. In addition I am not paid for any holidays. I'm definitely not interested in being a perm employee with this company, but need a job. Anyone have advice?? I'm ready to provide my 2 week notice and just move on, but unsure if that is the right move.

Always better yourself find a way..

Temp jobs can be ugly. Look at it like this. Working this temp position has given you a glimpse of what it would be like to work for this company full time. Stick it out to the end of the assignment unless you have a job lined up. Temp agencies generally won't cut your current assignment short and send you to work somewhere else, even when you run into something like this. I assume it's because of contractual obligations. I would let the temp agency know what's going on though. They may not want to send anyone to work for that company again.
Once the temp period is up, you can move on or ask for another assignment.

I agree wait till after The Holidays now is not the time to look and you wanna pay your rent first. I wouldn't waste anymore time there if you are being mis-treated & not paid properly for your hard work. There are other jobs out there for IT positions that you'll be happier at & appreciated for your hard work. Just keep your head up & stay positive you'll find your Dream Job I did, it took 4 months. Good Luck & Happy Holidays :)

You're a temp. Is that the reason you're being treated this way? Are just the perms getting the benefits and not the temps? The perms get the bennies. They work for the co you want to work for ,You work for the agency,They pay you right? It is up to them provide you with the bennies. If you still want to go perm there go for it ,prove to them they need you. That is why they hire temps. It is like an audition/They can let you go at any time and have another temp in the next day.you can take a day off if you have to,You have no obligation to them because they have none to you. Just remember it's an audition. You've got to give your best .You're a temp you can handle this.

Eric, I have to agree with Reginald on this one. I don't think you should accept a permanent position with this company were it offered for the simple reason that, if its as deplorable and toxic a work environment as you say it is (and I don't doubt you), you'll soon find yourself out in the job market again looking for another place of employment. Stay on good terms with your temp agency and hope that your next assignment is with an organization that offers a better work environment and management.

Eric alternatives are limited right now. I say stay on the job as a TEMP. DO NOT accept perm. But keep in mind that you have to get your application time in. At least get thru the holidays then after the rent is paid for January 1st 2017..... take off and use 2 weeks of January to interview and look for a new temp agency to be with. Come on now you're IT..... You're going to get picked up in time. Hope you're OK with that strategy....
Look for a position that you can interview for during your lunch hour or before or after work. Many companies will accommodate you in this. Good luck!
