EDD
My application for one of the local governments passed scrutiny and I was chosen to take an off-line test. The test only works on a PC, so since I own a MAC I had to go to the EDD office to take the test on their PC. The test has five parts. I was able to do the first part OK, but for Excel and Word it needs a Plug-In. Well, EDD does not allow plug-ins. I tried calling the local government but the phone maze is so big that I cannot get a live person to talk to and possibly reset the test, if they'll even do it. I hate this!

Sounds like a nightmare.

That's what it's come to everything is done from a computer.hardly anything is done on paper.

I feel your pain! I'm on a Mac too and had trouble completing some of the approximately eight forms I had to fill out for my last job. I was going insane! I ended up at the public library, using a PC there. I didn't need an Excel or Word plug-in, but they sure know how to make it hard. :(

Did you try the library ?

Well, took the test and aced it but was put on an eligibility list. So no job.

If you are going to work for this government you should know they are only using pc's sorry but that's the truth. Good luck

After 7 months of job searching and unemployment I learned that if things didn't seem to be going my way, there was probably a reason. All the jobs I applied for and hoped to get, I didn't. The one job I applied to just to keep the unemployment people happy, hired me, and I love my job. So don't give up. The right job will happen.

That's not your fault; you did what you could, so be it. I hate when things don't go your way!!!! BEST LUCK NEXT TIME

Not good, do you have any friends or family with pc's you can call on to help you with this? Did you they public library?
Rent to own until you no longer need it.
