At my wits end
I am in dire need of help, I'm going on my third month of unemployment had 4 interviews, which is better than a lot of people, but have been turned down for all of them. I am at a point of giving up . I just wanted to see if a recruiter could let me know what i am doing wrong

hey Richard I been out of work since 12/12/1019 I have also been playing the job seeking game .I have 5 yrs call center experience I did not start looking till after the new year but I have placed about 100 application, got about 45 phone interviews that turned into 20 one on one , and yet have been given a offer to work for them ,this week I so far have one phone interview and one -one on one lined up, I know what you are going through, all I can say, make sure your resume is up to date, keep looking , put applications out in your field, also use the job search site, and register yourself on Indeed, recruiter,CareerBuilder, and jobcase,, these are the sites I get alot of postings in the field I am looking in. something will come through and someone will like your resume or call you to do a phone interview because they found your resume on those site and do a offer to a post to a company they represent has and do a phone interview and if you can sell yourself ,and they like you answers to there questions they will bring you in for a phone than a one on one .keep the faith something will happen, for me there is a good chance the one on one may finally be the one that will say yes to hiring me ,but I go one day at a time and do each interview with in mind they are going to hire me so go with a good attitude and always dress to impress and answer the interviewers question as true full as possible and one of those will turn into a offer to work , so good luck and don't put yourself down something will happen for the good

Hi, Richard.
It could be that you are doing nothing wrong. That is the first possibility.
Otherwise, without actually seeing your interview, no helpful answer is possible.
Perhaps you can take some comfort in knowing that at least half of all job seekers are experiencing the same problem as you. At least, you are getting interviews; so, you must be doing something right.
The same interview game has been played for at least the past 100 years. The internet privides much assistance for learning how to play the game; but almost no advice on winning. Listen carefully to me; and I will give you the winning way.
In reality, there are only three interview questions that are almost never asked. All employers want and need to know the following; and nine in ten times, they will hire the person who gives them these answers:
- Who are you?
- What will you do for me?
- Why should I hire you over others? Most interviews begin with a casual statement by the host. "Tell me a little about yourself." "What brings you to our company?" Etc. That is your open door opportunity to thoroughly answer the three questions above. Understand? Most people don't get hired because following the interview the employer still knows little or nothing about them. Thw interview is similar to a sales pitch; and you are both the sales person and rhe product. Employers do not give jobs. They give opportunities. Its up to you to claim the opportunity or let it pass. All the best.

Its a full time job looking for a full time job. Keep on moving forward and asking for advice. You will fall into something great, I am sure. God Bless

Do not assume you are doing anything wrong. Oftentimes the position is already filled by the managers friend or someone at their church and they’re just going through the motions - unfortunately. But all you need is one yes, so keep your head up, stick your chest and keep moving!

Yeah whatever you do, Don’t give up!! Because these managers go after every little thing to break someone. Keep searching. Don’t let those managers get the best of you, because managers today are about Feelings, Not Business and Opportunities like their supposed to be. That’s why a lot of managers can’t keep their help when their supposed to be the leader and set good examples for employees as well as the company. A lot of managers people deal with these days are young, limited, and inexperienced. That’s one of biggest reasons why it’s so hard to get a job. Try going with staffing agencies, a lot of times they have companies they work with that have temp to hire. I mean at least you’ll have a job. May not a job you’ll like, but again, it’s income coming in to you. Don’t waste your time with these other employers, because why waste the time with employers that waste your time when there’s other employers that are serious about hiring people that you can talking to. Again don’t let these managers break you to the point that you give up. Because that’s their pleasure and they thrive on that. Because they have what we call today “SELF INFLADED EGO”. They act like stupid teenagers when they are groan ass adults themselves. Again Please don’t give up, go to staffing agencies or try Walmart or Target stores, their always in need of people. Do not let vulnerability get the best of you. Because that’s what managers like to act like idiots want. Why waste time with idiots when there’s so much more out there and there are managers that are good people. You just got to keep searching and stay away from idiot employers. Do not let idiots for employers waste your time, right now I’m going through staffing Agencies for a year sense I got laid off at my previous employment a year ago. It’s not jobs I like to but I’m getting a income and I can still pay my bills. Hopefully I’m at least able to point you in the right direction. Good luck with job search, and God Bless.

Whatever happens, DO NOT GIVE UP ... that is about the worst thing you can do right now considering the fact that Im sure you need to work. What are your tips to yourself when you are doing these interviews?

I was out of work only 1 and half months before accepting a job offer. During that time I had many interviews and probably could have been offered any of those positions. The way I look at it, some of those jobs were probably not for me based on what I learned during the interview and the whole point of accepting the job you want is that you'll be happy. I left my last job because I didn't like the environment and I was willing to wait for something that was more in line with what I wanted. The best advice I have for you, Richard, is to persevere and don't give up until you are successful.
