My name is Dana Newell. I am currently seeking a new job opportunity that may open doors for a new career. I live in Harrisonburg, VA with my significant other and 3 children. I have been working in the restaurant business for over 10 years. I love working with the public and enjoy getting to know customers, but, something is missing. I feel as if I could be doing more. Not just for my community but that I am also shortchanging myself. I feel that I am capable of doing more than has been expected of me. I have been a loyal employee and a hard worker. I'm not afraid of labor or "getting my hands dirty". I would love an opportunity working in the medical field or working in customer service but have never been offered an opportunity to train or been able to school for the field. I also enjoy working with the elderly and especially children. I have great communication skills and I am a fast learner. My oldest daughter is autistic, so as I may not be licensed, I do have some experience working with special needs kids. I am enthusiastic about starting a new chapter, and am registering for online schools to further studies in occupational therapy/ physical therapy. Any advice to find something that may help progress towards these goals or work with a student's schedule that can help provide for my family is appreciated.
