30 plus years as a pharmacist and I can’t find a job
I have been a Pharmacist for 30 years now. My company I worked for went out of business in 2015 and I can’t find steady employment. I feel like a failure. I know I am a good pharmacist but I have had a bad couple of years. I keep applying to positions and I get Little to no response. I have been called for like 3 interviews. I got a job with a temp agency and well they have little to no jobs I am qualified to do. What other jobs can I do with my RPH degree. I am desperate. I have to pay bills and have a family to support. I don’t want to lose everything. I am sort of at my wits end.
Any help will be appreciated.

Edward - check the job sites like career builder, zip recruiter & virtual vocations, etc.. I've seen insurance companies list positions recently for pharmacist positions - probably review worker comp files for abuse of drugs or dangerous combinations etc.. ;

- Also check the U.S. Government work sites - with all the change in the VA health care system there may be opportunities - In the end You may have to be open to relocating in the long run...

First things first get on state help for time being and unemployment ! You have a family think about them ! RIGHT? When you get back to work which you will then leave it for the birds ! We all need help sometimes and it’s okay to take it ! What about blogging to get yourself out there ? There are so many nifty spiffy creative things you can do to get back to you! Therefore in the meantime get help from the state for insurance, food , cash asst, and unemployment ! Every little bit helps and don’t be against it ! Some people yes take advantage of it but some people need the help so when you get back on your feet pay it forward ! Good luck let me know how it goes god bless you and your family

Hi Edward, don't beat yourself up over your situation, you have very little control over it. The important thing in my opinion is keeping your motivation and spirits up. I know it is a difficult situation that we are all in. Unfortunately it is a part of life. Keep your head up and it will come. Good luck!
