Fake jobs

Hello everyone! I have been searching for a job for 2 months now, but in that time period i literally got about a 100 fake job offers! They ask you to be their personal assistant or do some other job from home for 30$ in hour. Even though i never believed those jobs , i find that some people might be tricked. Everyday someone texts me from numbers that dont exist or e mails asking me to google chat with tge employee! Just be careful !

Hi Yuliya! I know how you feel, there are a TON of scams out there. My best advice is to 1) arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible, 2) utilize your network (i.e. us!) to help you figure out if things are legit, and 3) focus your job search on companies you already know about.

Job scams are hugely prevalent right now, which is just awful because they prey on the folks who need money the most. I find this list of top signs of a job scam is most helpful when trying to figure out if a job posting or offer is legit: https://www.thebalance.com/top-job-scam-warning-signs-2062181

If you're looking for work from home I also recommend checking out Upwork, they should be good about weeding out scam jobs. Also it's worth noting that Work From Home is rarely very profitable. Anytime you find a WFH position that pays a lot be wary, because generally those positions earn good side money or help your ends meet, but very rarely can anyone make a full-time career out of working from home.

Remember, finally, you can always email me if you have a question about any specific offers you've gotten, just contact me at askemily@jobcase.com!

Oh and if you're applying but not hearing back, don't lose faith! Sometimes it takes a little while before your applications get noticed. You could always try following up with businesses after you apply to make yourself a little bit better known. I hope that's helpful!
