Was I wrongfully terminted?

I was in the hospital for 2 days. I had my wife call my employer to let them know what was going on. When i returned to work I had my doctors note. I was called into the office HR and my supervisor was their and they fired me. They said because I was a lead and only called in one day and I should of called in both days. I explained I was very sick in pain in the ER waiting to see what the doctor found wrong and what was going to happen. When in the ER cellphones dont work. Was I wrongfully terminated?

Medical Assistant at Nwms

That sux!¡!!! To be blunt. I got hired on into a huge company. However between the interview and the offer my medical license had expired since I fled an abusive relationship I had thought it was one more year. Now no money to renew and steps away from living on the streets. Why do the hire on ppl play with lives?

Javier, i cannot give you an expert, legitimate opinion, but I can say from a bit of experience through a former Co-worker, (YOU) should have definitely been the one to call your supervisor....not anyone else like your wife, brother sister, parent, or neighbor. It would also reflect on your time employed and weather or not you were still on your probationary period, attendance, and quality of work/production. I definitely suggest you keep all documents such as doctors note(s), work release and hospital bills and what not. The more documentation, the better. Question,...Is it even worth going back to work for a company that would treat you that way? Is it worth the time waiting for unemployment to kick in? Figure that out and let me know because I'm asking for a friend..

Thats My Name Correct Gmail But Not Correct Address at Rest Home

Yes, went through SAME situation n she fired me for being very ill. I don't make up stuff. I really was very ill, denied my unemployment. Well, kept going to court cause the day of hearing I was ill AGAIN n was admitted to hospital for 3 day's n got every test under the sun. Well, turns out I had ulcers n took judge 4 mins to decide I deserved my unemployment. Got a bunch of checks n the mail. The truth most always prevails...They want u ti cll EVERY DAY ur out regardless how sick u r. She tried lieing on me n it turned bad for her...The truth will always come out on top 4 sure..GOOD LUCK n I wouldn't let it go if you've dobe what the rules reguire.. Sincerely, Donna Blanton ❤

Maybe you should have call all right let them know that you was in the hospital for two days even though you brought the slip in date looking at your accountability but I'm not saying you was in Fault it's the way you do things when you work cuz two rights don't make a wrong

Now days, companies seem to be able to terminate people for ANY reason - whether that reason is right or wrong does not matter.

They terminated you without cause. Unless you have standing problems with your attendance, had been previously warned.
