I was at a large corporation in Kansas City for 4 years. I was unhappy so I applied for a position elsewhere. I get the offer, sign my acceptance letter, get my start date and I then put my two weeks in at the current job. Three days before my new job starts and they tell me they are rescinding their offer due to a past bankruptcy on my background check! Which I find completely ridiculous! It made me feel like a criminal! So I tried to rescind my two weeks and they told me no. Fast forward two months and I’m still searching for a job and I have been denied unemployment twice now. Feeling extremely discouraged

Yea that's unfortunate. You can't file unemployment if you quit your job. But there also are company's that require a clean credit rating. So if you were like in a bankruptcy you could be looked at as someone who may be financially strapped and may steal from the company. They believe all people with bad credit are crooks. It sucks but its reality
