For the last two years, I have only been able to get a few weeks here and there as a paralegal temp, but no steady stable employment. I have a college degree, plus paralegal certificate and 12 yrs experience with 7 yrs with one employer. I have pride in myself and want to be productive, but after two years I do not know what I have to do to get a decent paying job. I have gone on over 200 interviews since 2014, and still am currently managing an average of two interviews weekly.
I moved to Vegas 13 years ago and in the last 8yrs the households which speak Spanish jumped from 16% to now above 40%. Nobody wants to hire a paralegal who is not bilingual in this city, and if they do make me an offer its a joke of less than $16hr.
I can not relocate from Las Vegas. Any suggestions, besides take a Spanish course? I will not learn Spanish just because the legal community here panders to the increasily illegal alien population which has taken over this great city.
Hey Christopher - if learning Spanish would improve your market value for jobs, why wouldn't you want to pursue that?
