Will Mallory asked...
how you broke into it [project management]? What is it that interests you about it, and what makes you good at it? I've been looking for office work and I'm wondering if I have what it takes to look into it as a possible career.

Hi Robin, thanks for starting this new thread! I looked up some articles about how to get started in Project Management, and the first one I looked at mentioned getting qualified and linked to an online diploma course. Is that something that anyone here has experience with? It appears to be about $3000 Is it worth the cost?

I got into project management because I was working in a team that was implementing a bunch of internal improvements to our IT and desktops. I found that I enjoyed helping make people's workplace run more smoothly. I gather that some of the common entry level positions are project coordinator or scheduler. How did others get started in project management?
