Deli Clerk
Unfortunately, I was fired from my position as a deli clerk a job that I had just started for about two months around the Thanksgiving Holiday,I notice must of the worker was going on vacation and retiree was taken place,It was exciting for me to be here, but after working for sometime in notice when the schedule would come out my name was not there and I did not ever had a direct time to come in only was told by one of the worker in the same department I was in.Alrhough I did not understand what was going on I remain humble and did what I very learned from the others.I was left to run this department one evening beyond my normal hours and a customer ask me about something which was not explain to me so I retired her to customer services since it was not explain to me and I'm new. While after two or three months there I was told by a young supervisor that I was no longer qualified. It really hurt me to learn this decision and not giving answer to why.

Forctge oerson who commented ". It's just a deli clerk not an office job" presenting yourself as illiterate is going to place you apart from other applicants and not in a good way. I don't care if she is applying g for a deli job or for a position in an office. With the plethora of people needing employment one of the first things she needs to do is present herself as a reasonably intelligent person. Since there were many people who had a lot of trouble just understanding her original post it's clear she does not pay attention to detail or communicate professionally. There is spell check on a phone and a computer which she did not pay any attention to and a plethora of organizations that will assist her with a presentable resume for free. That's the way the world rolls now. Plenty of people who have good grammar skills are finding trouble getting a job. Why make it more difficult and appear illiterate? Doesn't matter what position you are applying for. If you appear unprepared you have a minimal chance if being considered.

Kimberly its ok to wonder why and I am not here to criticize like a few of these responses seem to be focusing on. But I get the impression that you have dodged a bullet. Some places just are not good places to work. They don't care about people and they can make a miserable workplace. I get the feeling that this deli was poorly run and would prove to be a frustrating place to work.Maybe you should "count it all joy" that you were spared the experience. The Lord has something better for you. And keep being humble .....it's refreshing! You are a good worker and you will find the right place to appreciate your qualities. God bless

Now that's crazy just stay strong n keep your head up god is good

It is a disappointment but there are lots of delis, sandwich shops, and supermarkets with deli departments that can use your skills. I live in a small town and at the store here and in the surrounding towns are always looking for help in the deli department.

It's a job, don't take it personally. Work is work. Your not there to make friends. You are only there to provide a service for compensation. So many people on here take termination personal. The only person who can "hurt you" is you unless you give control to others. Chin up, spirits up move on. Put a hard shell on and welcome to life. Remember don't make friends at work. Do your job and get your paycheck period.

Were you just hired for The Thanksgiving Holiday only ?. Didn't they tell you how long you would be working there ?. Sorry to hear this happened to you, maybe talk to your HR Dept to find out just what happened & why ?. I would start looking for another job & just keep your head up & stay positive you'll find something better. Good Luck :)

You need to go back to first grade and work on your "english" and "grammar." I would not hire you simply BC of your horrible spelling and poor grammar.

As a former manager in retail I always told my new hires if you don't know ask or send the customer to someone who can help. Sounds like you know customer service. What they did mostly is against the law you must be on a schedule with hours. States have a minimum amount of hours and a maximum amount of hours required by law that a person must be scheduled. Not very professional is right!! Good luck in the future

SORRY THAT YOUR JOB KIMBERLY I WILL PRAYER FOR YOU TO FIND AN OTHER JOB IN YOUR AREA
Looks like they hired you just temporarily, to cover some employee shortfalls. Don't worry about it. Just find a better job.
