Why do I keep thinking Associate when I should be thinking Manager?
I have over 10 years of service experience in retail, sales, and call centers so I can’t understand why am I so intimidated to apply for management jobs.

Jeremy I would look at both type of positions. If you are unsure about management right now look for jobs where you can learn and move up quickly. I gave also seen jobs posted for management trainees, maybe you could look at that also this way you will be trained for management. Good luck

Jeremy, Without sounding like a cheesy late night infomercial, I too use to think the same way. My best advice is to utilize the best practices from experience working with other managers to incorporate your own managment style. After all, most great managers started great associates.

Hi Jeremy I got experience in Customer service and Order entry in Electronic Data Services in Mechanicsburg in PA. Pl help to find this job.

managing people is not an easy fly ball to the pitcher! I think your right to tread cautiously but don't keep yourself from an ideal management position because your being too safe. Carefully review the job descriptions and make sure you understand the responsibilities before moving forward.

Hi Jeremy: LOVE this post. I think too often, we're afraid to realize our full potential, whether it's because of what others have told us or what we think it takes to be a "leader". What is it that makes you feel intimidated about being a manager? I'll be honest, to me, it sounds like you're already a leader with a great attitude, so it's time to transition this into a new career!
It's very natural to think like that Jeremy. Many of us don't give ourselves the credit we deserve for one reason or another. I'm the same way. I also tend to beat myself up alot because I always strive to do and be the best! So go for what your heart feels and what's the worst that could happen. As long as you set yourself aside from others you'll do great! Always go above and beyond. That's what all employers want.
