Would you deal with a younger manager?

Be honest with me. If your manager was 20 years younger than you, would you be okay with that?

I'm only 24 and worked as a plant manager for 2 and one half years and never had problem i think the problem comes when the younger person has no respect for older Generations experience and knowledge of everyday operations

I sure would. In fact, I have already had a manager younger than me before. If he or she knows the job better than me, then I would expect for him or her to train me in the same manner.

What matters is whether my manager is competent and treats staff with respect. My manager's age is irrelevant, with the exception of someone who's too young to be working. (If I were 25, and my manager were 5, it would matter.)

...the only Problem I've come across is some are too quick to use the 'YOUNG' card....for example, I had a boss 12 years younger who constantly disagreed with proper construction principles...so work had to be Re-done, over & over again...I was de one who had to keep fixing things, and I like to do a job---Right---de First ( and Only ) Time....when arguments flared Up, and the boss was Losing the disagreement---quickly I was accused of Not giving Respect because I was older-----Had Nothing to do with Age OR Respect.....if you're a Douche, and cannot admit you're wrong...don't use the 'YOUNG" card......needless to say, I didn't last three years with this person ( Thank You Jesus !! ).....

They have the title, you do not. Chain of command is important to follow and could easily backfire if you target a person for their age--goes both ways.

Doesn't matter the age what matters is this, it cost a company more money in benefits and salary than to train a new person. Isn't it you turn to live, volunteer or something, part time.Get a passport.Live.

its the training or skills he/she acquired over time.if you have a problem with it this should motivate you to get more training so you can become the boss .don't down or judge because that person is where you want to be or has more training.flip things around and ponder that for awhile.
