It shouldn't be that difficult Dorothy. Maybe you need to change something in your approach. Where have you applied? Are you applying in person or online? Do you have a resume? Go with business that offer extended hours like retail, supermarkets, and restaurants. They're usually looking for help during the evenings and weekends and also extend allot of work to high schoolers. Apply in person whenever often.. face to face interactions are the best way to market your skills and desire to be employed.

There's more competition for jobs with retirees re-entering the labor force. Make sure you show weekend and evening availability on your applications. That's typically where companies are most challenged for employees.

Trust me I know the feeling! Try looking for employers who will hire students from high school like grocery stores, ywca, ymca, peer leader programs or even some other non profit organizations
