Compensation: $41,000 yearly

Requirements:

Must have a minimum of 1-year professional coding work experience. One of the following coding credentials required: RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, COC (formerly CPC-H), or CPC-P. Ideal coding candidate has minimal E/M experience. Billing experience is a plus. The medical coder will be responsible for, but not limited to, reviewing provider documentation and abstracting diagnosis codes, procedure codes and supply codes from provider documentation, entering or accessing essential information from a proprietary database, often utilizing Microsoft Excel, for multiple medical specialities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assigns diagnostic codes from provider documentation, entering essential information into a database Follows the official coding guidelines including AHA Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, CMS Documentation Guidelines, Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and other similar authoritative resources Participates in department meetings, coding training and compliance training Attends continuing education classes to maintain coding proficiency and certification requirements Regularly and consistently meets quality and productivity standards established by management. Completes administrative tasks in a timely manner and in accordance with management expectations, such as data reporting and productivity Maintains ongoing communication with management regarding coding workload, turnaround time expectations and deliverables Performs additional duties as necessary to meet the obligations to our clients Complies with the company's policies regarding the use and disclosure of protected health information which includes accessing and using protected health information only to the extent necessary to fulfil the above-mentioned responsibilities company offers a competitive salary, excellent benefits package, & good working environment.
