Mainframe COBOL developer full time positions are far and few inbetween, due to people holding on to their positions and the wave of outsourcing for a lower costs. I found a position is the Chicago area which is a very tough market. One has to be due diligent in looking for work. Lot's of research on companies and their datacenter location.Even if I had one of the required skills I applied for that position. Most recruiter contacts were from Overseas and don't know the location of some of these Cities in the U.S. and the rates OMG some of them were a pure joke. It took a lot and a few months. I'm going to call this my blessing.
