Seeking part-time work indoors

Hello everyone. I have been looking for part-time work. I am 61-years-old and am on SSDI. I have worked as a crossing guard since August of 2008. I have a B.A. in Psycology/Social Science. The reason that I am on SSDI is that I have had CHF since 1999. I couldn't find employment indoors, and the winters are getting colder. I hear either over-qualified or under-qualified. I am a good, positive worker, but standing in the cold isn't really good for me. I have put in many applications/resumès since I graduated from College in 2002. I appreciate my employers, but since I am a school crossing guard, the job is seasonal and I don't get holiday pay, pay for snow days or sick days. It is getting harder to stand in the cold. I imagine thst I don't get return calls is probably because of my age and/or illness, but I am not one to take time off unless it is a medical emergency. I keep getting job posts for a truck driver instead of work related to Psychology or Social Services. I cannot drive a truck because of an old left hip replacement. I know how to drive stick, but I am not supposed to do so because I would need my left foot to operate the clutch. I would like to believe that my college education was not in vain. Perhaps someone out there can relate. SSDI doesn't cut the financial needs. I wish the best to all of you out there! C.A. Siegel
