Anything that helps assist the manager and makes the job place run smooth. Each manager has different jobs and tasks that they need to uphold depending on the workplace. Ero you might be instructed differently based on the manager. The best thing you can bring to the table is honesty, punctuality, and to be pro active at the workplace. You can't go wrong with that. Also pay attention to what their job is and see how it ties in to the whole environment to keep that place a float. Helping them with basic tasks at first to ensure that they have less of a burden and then building from that.

I suppose like stated in earlier chat depends on what company you work with in my experience you need to know just as much as the SM this is so you can manage things in his/her absence. You have possibly done some as a lead. Soak up all you can all in all simple things. Most store managers handle all the paperwork so they can be out of sight. Your job will be running interference.

As a assistant manager in my experience I made sure everything was taken care of id do inventory count money make sure everybody else's work was done act as manager when manager has a day off take care of any and all customer complaints also my job to know when a on unHappy customer look and spoke like to speak with them to make sure they was happy before they left work anytime someone else was a no show

In my job I have the pure system I run I operate the handling of the safe to safety checklist I have opening clothing I have the payroll I run the whole crew I do food safety and cooking stocking complaints from Christmas to customer support and moral support for my crew there's a lot more little things but each job is different
