Failure is not an option
Hello! So glad to meet all of you! I am 51 returning to the work force after a car accident and then cancer. So, yes, there is a gap in my work history.. I really wanted to say my last job was a patient. However, spending the amount of time that I have with other patients and doctors I have a transformational view on interpersonal communication and empathy. I have mad skills in technical writing, being the liaison between technology and clients, project championing, anticipating needs, and professional development. I am told that I have a great sense of humor and I make others feel valued. I’m looking forward to finding a career that fits just right.

Another 51-year old tech writer. How about that? :)

I don't know how many places are hiring technical writers, but a good friend of mine who has MS worked from home for Cisco Systems as a technical writer. You might give them a try. I wish you the best and to stay healthy!

You're a perfect example of a strong willed individual. Seems as though you've taken a rough situation and haven't allowed it to stop you. Have you thought about becoming a Companion, non-licensed Home Health Aide?? It's apparent you have a positive outlook and a big heart. You should spread that! Best of luck in your search! Best well wishes!

God bless you with the kind of career path you want!! You are such an inspiration!! Don't give up

Dina, You got this!! Come on technical writing skills, awesome background! Make finding a job as diligent as working in a job!! The good Lord has your back too! Not a problem for you! Focus and it’s yours! Keep the faith, Sarah

I'm sure you will find something perfect for you! I am also returning to the workforce after a 4 year gap beating cancer. I've put my trust in God that I will land the right opportunity and that my employer won't care that have had cancer.

I write on here very often on how people can be their own worst enemies by ignoring certain important issues that could disenfranchise them horribly (homeless). I will only comment on the national debt. As the debt goes higher the economy will get ever more moribund because business is not going to hire if they see a mountain of debt that the Federal government is going to default on. Would you expand your business in such an environment?, probably not. We are in the calm just before the coming storm of default.

Just keep doing what you doing and everything is gonna work out just fine.

Hi Dina Ponas , Welcome to Jobcase! Excellent introduction by the way. So glad to hear you're recovered from those very serious health conditions. I noticed you have a teaching background in your work history. There's a career fair happening next week you might be interested in. The event announcement claims they have a long list of reputable local companies offering employment opportunities within a variety of industries. I'll add the link below for your review.
Welcome home ...... Time to rock and roll ...Make a killin !!!
