
Would take a week to tell you everything she did!!
So I just received my 2 week notice from my boss (owner) and said she would pay my wages for those 2 weeks if I wanted to leave that day. So I did. I have been the manager for 3 1/2 years at a small doggy daycare/boarding facility doing a great job as per her husband and customers. It all started last summer when she was getting really snappy with me. I sat down with her and her husband and asked if I was doing something wrong, she said "no". Ever since then and she got all buddy buddy drinking wine with another employee, she has been targeting, knit picking, chewing me out, causing MANY tearful days and almost a mental breakdown and taking away some of my responsibilities because "she wanted control back". I was working 40-50 hours a week to cover for other people that called in and she didn't like the cost, wanted to put me on salary and make me exempt. I said "no". So she comes up with this new contract that has a non compete clause in. I said "no". She said "contracts are for negotiating, I gave you something by not making you salary or exempt". Her other buddy suggested I give back my paid vacation and holiday pay and just sign the handbook like everyone else. So I did but lo and behold, she puts the non compete clause in the handbook and I told her I wasn't signing it with that in there so she gave me my 2 week notice. I really think she was jealous that I was running the business better that she ever did and some customers would only ask for me. Even her husband said "the last 3 years are the best they've ever been". Is there anything I can do legally for her firing me?
