What Do I Do?????
I was hired as a waitress at a restaurant and came in for my 5 hr orientation(interactive videos + quizzes at the end of each section) the next day, i came in for my 14 hr training and then my manager told me he'd call me the next day with my schedue-that was supposed to be last sunday... he's he never did. I called him multiple times and left messages, and he never called me back. it been almost a week and i still haven't heard from him. this hasn't happened to me before so I literally have no idea what to do now. and again, YES i was HIRED. I GOT THE JOB.
He doesn't appear to very professional, unless he is just away for a week vacation. Were you paid for your training hours? Suggest you put in writing to him what you reviewed here, expressing your excitement about beginning your job and how you enjoyed the training. If he fails to respond after a reasonable time take revenge on social media--Yelp, etc. warn away all other potential applicants. Getting good employees is the most important task for s restaurant.
Have you tried going to the location to see if you can catch your manager in person? I wouldn't normally recommend this, however since you were hired on and trained, it seems like you're in a position to do everything in your power to get some answers. Before you do that, I would suggest that you start submitting applications for other jobs as a backup. Make sure to prepare yourself for rejection. If it turns out that you won't, in fact, be working there, do your best to remain calm, polite and professional until you leave the premises. Best of luck, Ally. Let us know what happens!
any one who hasn't given you a schedue by now something isn't right.I don't sounds like to ME you were hired.I wouldn't call any more,I would go there and talk to the manager,even if it any one to find out what's going on.Now if you don't suppose to start this week,ok,I'll by that,but they still should have talked to you about your hours by now,Something doesn't sound right to me.
