Not so funny story @ #motel6
Hello,
I was hired on as a full time desk clerk. Upon my arrival to work one evening, I counted the till as normal. Upon my count I found sixty dollars was missing from the till. There was also a note at the bottom of the till saying it was ok, but with an employee signature. I called the manager, whom was not there, three times. With her not answering, I continued to notify the owner whom previously gave me his number if I come across any problems. Long story short they fired both manager and employee. As that was going on I was unaware that the owner was going to sell, and the people he sold the motel 6 to, hired the employee i got fired, as a manager. They took me and a friend of mine, from full time, to on call, never to be scheduled. Alas I am jobless.

When you did not get hold of someone, take a pic with your phone and text to the boss or email to yourself that way you have proof and evidence in the event that this won't happened again. It just came out to be hearsay or used the copier/fax machine. After further reading you should have just kept it within the office and not notified the owner. That is why he has a manager. Regardless whether you did not reach him when you wanted to but take a pic just in case. Then talk to the manager in the morning about the issue. There is a chain of command and you broke that being a new person.

Tom Bodet never left the light on for you , huh? Motel 6 is a WORST motel to stay at anyways. Keep your head high and keep looking another job may just fall in your lap soon. God bless.

Word of advise from an experienced career woman. You were New and should have minded your own business. Sadly, honesty isn't always the best policy. There was a note, period! Not your job! You called to many people, too many times!

I'm a little lost here because it says you were hired as a front desk clerk but then became a manager. Not sure if I understand because toward the end you said employee and manager got fired including yourself. ??? Could you elaborate or clarify that if you don't mind. I had issues with a motel 6 franchise so I do know its not all peaches& cream.

At least now we all know not to go there!!

I have stayed at a motel 6 for a few weeks and as I was there I did see and hear about some very odd behavior by employee and managers from.diferent amount for for certain people on certain night to they wash our linens and bring the same ones back kind of a different business practice and odd managerial skills

That's Crazy!! I didn't know Motel 6 operated independent locations. I thought all hotels were privately owned by the same company. That's probably what allowed something like that to happen.

Wow, that sucks. You were just being honest.
Yeah I know what you mean, just has something simular happen to Me after starting a new job,at Holiday Inn Express in Fl.,I warned My Manager that a few people were in fact trying to get her fired (one was someone she just put in a supervisor position)I'd thought that to be pretty low,to do,to a manager that just promoted you.But after a week, this manager turned out to be a real fruitloop, and tried twice to flip the script on Me,in order to get rid of Me. REALLY?!!! Long story short,I kinda wish I never warned her now.But it is always the best thing to do,is to be honest,in the end it will be on them and not on you.I just resigned today/and started a new job yesturday! On My day off, that is. I never ever waste even a minute of time looking for something better, when I see trouble arising.I get going on searching for a better job, before I leave the one I was in......better to be prepared and ready, especially in this "dog eat dog"world we live in today. When one door starts to close, another one will open if you Pray and are diligent in seeking it out. Keep pressing on,you will find what your looking for, though you may have had a couple bad apples, along the way....just use them for stepping stones,to greater things.
