Stressed about my job
I've graduated from high school this year. I applied for many jobs and among them I got job offer from Sears. I was so happy at first because I had no prior experience but gradually I realized the workplace is not for me. Neither they give enough hours nor they give any flexible schedule. Today in the morning I was my schedule for next week and when I logged in my account I saw they removed the schedule and now it's showing I don't have any work in next week. I want to quit this job though I've not found any alternative job yet. I'll move to buffalo from this August as I got acceptance from UBuff. So I don't know what to do now. Should I quit and look for another job or should I continue? Any advice would be really appreciated.

You can either stick it out till you move. Or find another job. Don't ever quit a job till you have another one lined up. Good luck

Try Home Depot or Lowe’s they are both always looking for good people and are willing to work around your school schedule... just make sure to be very upfront about your availability.

Continue to work while looking for another job. Is it possible for you to transfer to another location where they have hrs

quit when you have a backup job don't quit if you don't have another job, finding one is very hard,i been doing the same looking because Burger King only gives me 17hours a week i can't afford that

Hi Abida Islam , Congrats on graduating from HS and for your acceptance into UBuffalo! If your moving to Buffalo in August that doesn't really give you a lot of time to search and take on another job. I think you should try to make more out of your Sears job.
The retail industry is struggling right because of online ordering so managers are being forced to reduce cost which typically means cut hours. Talk to Management and make yourself more available. Let them know your willing to cover call outs, vacations, and help out in other departments. Let other employees know you're available to cover their shifts if they're looking to take some time off this summer. The idea is to put yourself front and center and let everyone know you need to work.
If that doesn’t work then you should look around for small construction projects happening in your area and ask the foreman if they need help with clean up. Some small construction and painting companies hire day laborers to do minor jobs and pay same day. Check to see if there are any opportunities like these in your area. Good Luck at UBuffalo!

I would stick with this job Abida until you can secure another. It would be good to save as much as you can before you do! Also you should look into jobs that are hiring in your new location. To do that follow these simple steps to find a job opportunity here on Jobcase.
1. Click on Jobs & Companies at the top of the page, or head over [here] (http://www.jobcase.com/jobs/search)
2. Enter a job into the search field where it says Job Title, Keywords, or Company.
3. Add in your location by filling in your City and State OR zip code. Then click the magnifying glass to search.
4. Once the list is up, click on “View Job" of any you are interested in and then apply.
Good luck with your job search and the move! : )
Don't quit until you have another job to take its place.
