I was terminated
I was terminated from a job that I loved I work for the diocese of Monterey as a foreman groundskeeper somebody had it in for me somebody in the human resources department why I don’t know probably because the person that promoted me and her did not like each other long story short when I was called in the office and start going over policies with me one policy particular was we all must adhere to other peoples languages and cultures and I’ve been at this company for 10 years I’ve had nothing but glowing reports I get along with everybody I’ve never once had a problem with anybody’s language or anything I am bilingual myself I come from a family that immigrated here many years ago my wife is disabled I know what it’s like to be discriminated against so they call me in the office and go through all these procedures with me and say they’re writing me up I asked if there was a complaint they said no everybody needs to know these rules I had no option but to sign it we had nobody to defend us that was on a Friday on Monday they call me in the office and suspend me tell me to come back Wednesday for a meeting I knew what was up they terminated me saying there was a complaint that I disrespected somebody’s language go figure that anyway anybody ? I think they just want to get lower paying people to the management positions recently hired a new Management company and they’ve been getting rid of all the management

Thank you everybody for the kind words and the confidence I’ve had nothing but good luck with working ever since the diocese let me go like some of the side with my experience and knowledge and other people that have given me such glowing reports and good references I’ve had no problem finding really good work and good jobs I’ve been recruited to many different places I am currently working at a large hotel in Pacific Grove and I am going to be starting a new job out at the former Fort Ord working for another company as their grounds foreman it was difficult to leave something I love so much but now that I’m no longer there and I see the skills that I have have not gone unnoticed it makes me appreciate all the more also I become a union representative to help people that were in my position and for all of you that are wondering I did see you and I did win ha ha did not get a lot of money you know who got the money the attorneys but I won anyway

That s exactly what this is....sue.

It's called skirt & target termination. Something I despise, because many employers use it skirt around the legal definition of discrimination in order to fire. They know what they did and took advantage of you. They shouldn't get away with it.

Well keep in mind, the Catholic Church has been closing schools, Churches, and seminaries over the lSt 10 years. And, financial troubles are increasing for the church. And, as you know, with our New open border policy, people south of our border get jobs for landscaping companies. They pay in cash and don’t ask questions. The Catholic Church attendance is way down. They have hundreds of priest phedifile cases that they are losing. In the next 10 years the Catholic Church with all its trappings and costumes will be struggling to stay afloat . I met a catholic priest who left the church. He worked in the Vatican. He said he left because the church would recruit young girls from poor families in India, make the family promises, and then ship the young girls off to the Vatican to make beds, help in the kitchens, and scrub the floors. So I would not feel bad about losing your job at the Diosese. This is a dying organization. Use your skills to start your own business. How to plant stubs and trees around your house so your house has a better chance on survival in a fire. Everything in certain areas have burned to the ground. Outline those Areas. They will need landscaping. Or hook up with a landscaper in those areas. They will need somebody to run there illegal alien crews. If you speak Spanish you will be in demand to manage these crews.

I thought all of these were scams ive tried to do this few times they ended up sending me Che ks from closed bank accounts they frauded and was found already by bank for stolen identity

Alfonso, If I were you and I had that much experience I think I would collect my unemployment and look for other landscaping jobs. Your field is wide open you could make up some business cards get bonded and licensed and you could go into business for yourself. I think that you can have 500 business cards made up for $9.95 or less. As far as being bonded and having a license it would be well worth it so your business would be legal. While you are unemployed look around at garage sales and advertise your business on the web. You would be surprised how much people are willing to pay to have they lawn manicured. I know that I paid my guy $120.00 per month to come twice a month. You may also want to check out used equipment at auctions and garage sales to help you get started with the equipment needed to start your business. I hope I was able to help you God Bless

Sometimes it doesn't matter how long you've been with the company. When something like this happens - you can either fight it - take it to court with proof of wrongful termination. Or take it as a blessing and pursue opportunities with other companies. And if I were you - I'd definitely use the people who have given you glowing recommendations as references.
And the last part of your post is probably the reason why you were terminated. New management company wanted to cut costs and part of making cut backs are letting employees go.
I really wish you the best in the new year and hope you find something soon. You have a long work history with a company that shows you have work stability, and glowing recommendations from co-workers and former bosses - You have 2 things in your favor. You Got this!
They always do that to save money
