Julie I'm afraid that I'm confused since I can't figure out what you feel your employer is signing. A W2 is wage and tax documentation issued by a legal employer to a legal employee. Both entities must have tax ID numbers clearly listed on this document and it is used for April 15 tax filing. These reported figures are based on the amounts withheld from your paychecks and deposited into tax, Medicare, social security and insurance accounts for your current and future benefit. The figures are computed by what you report on a W4 which is an employer tax worksheet. Unless the W2 is actually written in Bic pen by your employer (in which case he would be waving at his cellmates in a Federal penitentiary for tax fraud) there's nothing to sign.
