KMart
Recently I started working for Kmart at the Abingdon VA location and was shocked at how this store is in the top 100 it's the only Kmart in this area. The Management team all but a few where very rude to employees and customers. I honestly have no clue how they are open with all the rudeness and having a huge tuturnover. I love working with the public, at times it can be very challenging but I enjoy the challenge. I recently left for many reasons I applied for the office job and didn't get it cause they supposedly had just filled the position. I had to take the cashier job but was told I would get the office job if the other person didn't workout. I was fine with that but then was told I'd be trained for Service Desk (which was somewhat a management position) I worked hard and made all customers happy. A few weeks after I started A young guy was hired he worked as a cashier for almost a week then got moved to the position I was supposed to have. I told a manager named Hannah that it wasn't right she said have you talked to Debbie I replied no then said can you find out what's going on. A week or so later I heard nothing which did upset me. I would get my lunch an hour before my shift ended. We never got breaks as scheduled. I left I will not work with a rude team or a place that judges your position by the way you look.

Sorry to hear that, Marlena. Doesn't sound like a great place to work at all. Maybe it would be better to start looking for something new you can move to away from Kmart. I think if you stay at this job you'll burnout because of this situation.
I worked for Kmart in the late 70-early 80s and they were like that back then. That's why they're in the trouble they're in IMO.....their attitude! I have shopped that store and know the Debbie you are talking about. I suspect that store will close next year, now that Walmart has opened. Wytheville is in closing mode right now.
