Salary that breaks down to below minimum wage.

I would love to work at a particular charter school. The salary offered ia little over 17k/yr. broken down, that would result in less than my state's min wage. How is that legal?

If its a charter school and farely new they can offer u what they desire from what I know. Y don't u try to work within the college level? It might be more pay! Green dot/ charter schools r opening up in many areas and they have to budget so the pay might be low. Its so sad how teachers r under paid, yet the students they teach become lawyers, doctors, etc... My daughter at the age of 26 is a teacher and she gets a decent wage. Thank God! She has the math of a genius ( calc 2). I wanted her to become an engineer but she said mom I want to teach kids. I'm happy about her decision , yet I feel that she should be paid WELL! Blessings to all whom teach!

Yes. Personal research with an "Employment Agency" may have more interesting information and value. Just saying.
