Is this true?
There’s a warehouse hiring package handlers in my area. I’m working full time right now but my girlfriends pregnant so I need to get a second job fast. The early morning part time hours are ideal for me but I’ve been reading some bad reviews about these jobs. The biggest problem is the unrealistic expectation supervisors put on new hires to unload trailers within 30 minutes. Is this why they have so much turnover for these jobs? I’m not afraid of hard work but I don’t want to kill myself on the first day. Does anyone have any feedback in these type of warehouse jobs they can share with me to help me with this decision?

I was hired at Fedex to load trailers during peak season. They were very particular as to how you "built your wall" of boxes, that each box was properly scanned, and that you reach a rate of 385 boxes per hour CONSISTANTLY. Try as hard as I could, I never broke 320 and was let go.

If you are in good physical shape, this should not be a problem. If not, I recommend passing on it. Congratulations on the baby!

Each warehouse operates different from the other. Some companies provide orientations, training, an an on-boarding process that's more extensive than others but production is important. Turn-over is a problem because a lot of people apply but unfortunately can't meet the physical demand of the job. If your going from a package handler job to a full time job the same day then expect some pain at first while your body and sleep patterns adjust but keep at it because your body adjust. hope this helps.
Danny, I generally give the same advise for anyone asking a question like yours. If you get called for an interview, simply take the position of interviewing the interviewer.. that is - don't be afraid of asking the question. Expcially because it gives them the opinion that you're not depserate to get the job. How they react to your quesiton is - I would say - a little more important than the answer itself. These days I find that 'supervisors' never really did the job they are asking you to do so their expectations are a little unrealistic and they are being expected to get things done with very little resources which makes this happen even with more regularity.
