Getting same job back you've had before

Has anyone ever lost a job they really liked and then months or years later try to go back for that same job rather it was at a different location or not? If so, how well did it go on getting that job back and was it in the same location or a different location and how many times did you lose that job and try to go back and would keep succeeding in getting it back? And was it difficult no matter how badly you really loved that job?

I guess it depends on the reasons you lost the job. If you were laid off or left voluntarily then you would definitely eligible for rehire or hired with another company. It would also depend on how long it's been since you used your skill set in your career. If it's a matter of months then that wouldn't be an issue. If it's been years then that might be more difficult but not impossible. I know it can happen based my own experience. I was disabled for a couple years. When I was finally better I was able to get a job back in my career, no problem. I say go ahead and apply.

I've had at least two jobs in my life I really liked and tried to go back to one of them I had slight help getting when I was 19 and had lost it due to new ownership. Just recently I tried to get one back I had last year and I had gotten that job all on my own for the first time with no help and lost it due to misunderstandings 3 months in.
