Horror of the Shoulds

I suppose recruiters are either trained or become jaded through years of experience, to the point of being skeptical of the applicants they interview. I wonder how many great candidates they miss because of that skepticism. I know I would be a competent addition to any business. But, how do I overcome the expectations recruiters might have regarding age WITH experience?

Try a headhunter instead. My brother in law used one and became employed.

I do not believe that to actually be a universal happening. That would happen more frequently to those who, I think, have allowed their entire existence to remain in orbit around their job entirely, sadly, allowing that the only source of mental nourishment and/or stimulant. Einstein said, and feel he is a reasonable man to probably know what he was talking about, giving a rather high level of achievement .... that Life is as a bicycle' you must keep riding, else you chance falling off.

Try retirementjobs.com there are jobs out there. To some you have completed your first retirement and trying to complete the second. Others figure that you will not be with them too long before you consider not working anymore.
