Well I'm sorry but I'd hire you to be a bartender anywhere. I think maybe try to take your experience and apply to management it would be a better fit

I am sorry for yo having troubles and difficulties in this…Here's some suggestions that certainly will help…

Start with your experience with and about certain types and kinds of ((food)), when you are looking over your resume' where did the (most) of the places that (you) have worked had the (most) success at… This will at least help you narrow things down a bit, and then you can be potentially being more intelligent about what you want to take…(not just taking what you can get)…

This industry as well both understand and know, (is) about truly (who) you know and understand as much as (what) you know..make sure that (your) resume' (reflects) this …starting with your (references)…make sure everyone of those individuals will say and pass on anything and everything positive about you and your work ethic..attitude..behavior..etc..etc..(we) both know the REAL world that (we) live in when it comes to this industry, and its (not) always fair or easy, but there are a lot of possibilities just continue to focus on these main factors..

If there are places within maybe a 2--5 mile radius that you want to apply at, please do so..(what I mean by that is) This type of work requires that you just get up and go out there with resumes' and your class and (sell) the factor of what everybody else (KNOWS) that you already have about yourself..always making sure that you have enough resumes' is one thing….making sure that those resumes' are being placed in the (right) or correct hands of people and persons are something else..

Think also about places that YOU have gone to that always come across to YOU as friendly fun …sounds silly/?? not at all….You'll find that these types of establishments are usually the ones that (yes) are sometimes harder to get employed at, but also (easier) to get noticed..and they are always taking resumes' too…..you and I both understand that this industry to get hired has to sometimes (start) or (begin) with the times of ((2pm---no later than 5pm)) in most cases..its can be difficult, but not impossible, just keep hitting the pavement and trying places within 2---5 miles of where you live..

Look at the season…and situation of restaurants..what I mean is look at every place that has a ((patio))…right now its (there) time to hire, many places may (not) post up a sign that says that they are hiring, but usually …they are….now is the best time to get going…

When you apply on--line make sure that these establishments have a link that allows you to either upload your resume' of they allow you to ((tell them about yourself, and or why you want to work there…these are important because it gives (you) a chance to again (promote and sell everything there is about you and what you have to offer, and the irony is that these companies don't (yet) see what you look like…is this a bad thing?? no…but at least it allows them a potential feel about how you'll fit into any plans that they might have…or any needs for the business, they also might have..

Also when you are applying online, you can consider using sites such as zip recruiter, jobseekers, indeed, but also that will mean that you have to create profiles and put out there more information ….they can work very well, always be careful…you only want to do this when the application process just takes resumes' and allows you to 1--click apply as well ((meaning its faster this way and once you have completed the other process)) but again be careful…sometimes theres a small link at the bottom of the page that has people calling you about (continuing) you education, don't WASTE the time or YOUR time>…

Consider places where you Looks are welcomed…Again..anyplace…this can night clubs..gentleman's clubs ..bars..hot spots…dance clubs…yes you have to figure that (most) of these places are only open during 4 to 5 days a week usually from Thursday through Sunday, as such, but again at least it would give you some wiggle room about the money that can be made how you can also continue to look for YOUR favorite types of employment along the way in your journey of life…((while still very much being able to make a living or at least a start of one))…

Consider places and opportunities also where you have (more understanding) and knowledge about too…if its lets say…wines..consider a (wine Bar)…..lets say that you have …lots of expertise in Sea Food..look at places to that degree as well, maybe its more tex--mex, same thing same answer, there..

Be flexible…With--all--due---respect, lots of restaurants are looking for people, but they may need someone that may (not) sit within the hours you may or may not be available to you…(what I mean there is your WONDERFUL bundle of joy) will always come first when making any decision…but …if a job…asked ..about any (restrictions)…you answer (no)….but you also only mention in the first place that you have a WONDERFUL bundle of joy…when they actually ask, or if the hours that they are asking for you to work (really are conflicting) at home…

This is a ((funny)) industry sometimes, and its also sometimes just best…left at..(If they don't ask)…you (DONT) tell…period….remember these decisions that (you) are going to be making…are being made with the best interests of the (both) of you two only in mind…

You are mature and so am I ….thats a blessing in this industry…but it can be a bit difficult to find employment…also try or consider …maybe in just the (short term)…Banquet Serving…Banquet…Bar-tending…too!! These companies are always looking for people and do pay (well enough) based on (your) experience…This helps (you) because again its your (merit) that can decide how much you (start) off to make…usually between 10.00 hr un to 15.00 in most cases…

You want to continue applying at or around places which are in an area that is pretty easy to get to and from….(you understand this already), but most importantly apply at as many places or establishments as you can in (1) area… lets say that you are in shopping area thats got (2) restaurants, but right across the street you see a night club, local hot spot…etc..etc… APPLY THERE…and across the street …these places have a higher traffic area usually, and are usually going to be just as even money on week days too!!

Talk to YOUR friends….REAL friends….that have been in this industry or are currently working in it…there has to be someone at least thats willing to talk and possibly point you in the right direction as well…

There's a lot more I can share and offer to you, but you already do have a lot to think about and do…Again I am soooooo sorry that this has happened to you and its difficult to say the least, but when you are done reading this I really hope that it had been very ((helpful)) and insightful..for you…you may reply,,…at ANY time…I will respond with an answer to the best of my abilities …to help…I too am working in the industry …I have been doing so for now almost 15 --16 years, and I do LOVE it….but I also HATE to see anyone hurting…when I do NOT believe that is the way things and situations have to be and exist….please take care of yourself….and remember I do hope that this helps and contact me with questions here if *(YOU) need…and I also hope that this message will find you and your Bundle of Joy well some day!! Maybe you can try to find a job at a sports bar, like Applebee's, etc, or maybe a bar. Your a very attractive 40 yr. Old, I don't see you having a problem getting a job at 1 of those places, good luck
