If you have experience this, or any of the other Qualifying Life Events (listed below), you may be eligible to receive health coverage through HealthSource RI. HealthSource RI offers a Special Enrollment period (SEP) during which Rhode Islanders can enroll in health coverage within 60 days of this event. Qualifying life events include:

• Losing employer-sponsored coverage (due to job loss, furlough, layoff, etc.)
• Getting married or divorced
• Having a child or adopting a child
• Moving to Rhode Island
• Turning 26 and transitioning off your parent’s insurance

HealthSource RI is the only place where Rhode Islanders can receive financial assistance to help pay for coverage. In fact, 8 out of 10 customers receive financial assistance and coverage through HSRI may be more affordable than COBRA.
