When I had applied with Aerotek in 2009, I was sent to different locations. Snapple, a logistics company by Kennedy Airport and AAR Corp. Granted, these temp jobs are only part time and can last anywhere between a few days to a few months. It was at AAR where I found my permanent job. I was doing temp work there for over 10 months. It was an open contract. Work was hard, but nevertheless, it kept us busy. During those 10 months I kept checking on the employment board of the company and kept my resume up to date, and when I found out that our temp work there at AAR was soon coming to an end, I approached the facilities manager for a recommendation. He gave it to me. The recommendation was a glowing one, because I gave it my all at the job. A position for a Diagnostic Technician became available and I applied for it. Needless to say, I was hired. Worked for AAR for 5 years until I had to retire in 2016. Remember, work may be only temporary but in the long run the right job just might come along. Temp work is not for everyone because of what it entails. No benefits, no vacation, no sick time just a paycheck but one thing is certain and a guarantee; a paycheck. Not good in today's market which is why this particular field is not right for everyone. But if you keep at it eventually something permanent will come along
