INTERVIEWS: (No. #3. Mistakes to Avoid) Appearamce.
!!PLEASE READ THIS NOW!! (This can change your life.)
Folks, interviews can be liken to airline tickets or a boarding pass. If you pass the interview you can come onboard. If you don’t, you can find yourself sitting on the sidewalks of life, far from the runway of success.
The TV Host Judge Judy once said, “Where did you think you were going sir, to the beach?” “You’re coming to court sir”!
Apparently, Joe didn’t get the memo, so he reported to his interview unprepared. Perhaps, a little-bit out of touch with the times; or he didn’t ask the right questions or talk with the right people. He didn’t do his homework beforehand.
To top it off…he present himself to the board members in jean pants, a furry snow coat and unlaced tennis shoes. Sure, his hair and facial composition was well groomed, however, just because the job title said Construction Engineering doesn’t mean your APPEARANCE is below standards.
In this case, the Chairperson of the Board simply said, “sir, thank you very much for coming by and we wish you a very nice day...”
Remember, your interview with the board members can be likened to a “boarding pass.” You’re either on the flight, or you're sitting off-site. Fyi. It's difficult to catch alternate flights. Right?
TURNKEY PRINCIPLE: Always present yourself in professional business attire. You don’t won’t to miss such an important flight!

I Believe You Can...!

My opinion... I think by the time most people are interviewed the hiring director or committee already know who they are going to hire but feel compelled to call more people in and give them false hope while wasting their time... now 2 cents poorer.

So important

How can i interview

I always dress to impress, I am from the old school . You have too look the part to be the part. first impression is everything.

yes

I will come to dress to impressed the person who is interventing me , listen to the question that the person is asking ,done understand the situation asked them to explain it to you so that you can understand it better before you answer it or get the meaning of the questions and answers to the best of my abilities to get it done.

I agree. Appearance and asking the right questions help.

Sometimes when you dress too good. They dont hire you because they feel you going to take their job. Especially moving to the South from the North

I really understand what everyone comments about but I have something to say if it’s the only platform I can use right now I will do it I have been sitting at Walmart for few days now I don’t have access to nothing not even shower today I got little upset cause a lady dorde cause I’m sitting here everyday and guess what she said it Creole thinking I don’t understand what she said I said lady I understand everything you said you have a bed to go tonight I have car to do what I’m trying to say is every race that passes by don’t said nothing but the Haitian I’m a Haitian I don’t like Haitian but I love you my mother and father because of them I’m Haitian one I have a blog on Facebook I will tell you guys what I eat today and were the food came from and the lady that have the problems me been here she’s not even the store manager a Employee
Very good advice. Your first impression on an interviewer, a client, or a new boss can make or break your chances at success. Appearance, communication skills, body language, etc. are all part of it.
