Not qualified
I'm so annoyed. I interviewed for a position that I knew I was a fit for, I have done that kind of work for 6 years. Yes it was a little different, but it was a Family support specialist. Helping with child abuse assessment. I work now as a sexual assault advocate and my previous job was a family support specialist working with families with children who have mental health diagnosis or disability. I felt like I rocked the interview. The next day I get an email saying my employment and experience are not qualified for that position? Huh? I just had that job, if anything in over qualified. I'm good at what I do and I love what I do. I can't believe they say I'm not qualified. I know it's because I told them that I come from a past of abuse and drug use due to my dv. With 10 plus years in recovery. I'm so frustrated.

Hey

I agree that honesty is the best policy. It will take longer, but you will find the best opportunity that way. God will bless you effort and your heart.

Wanda being honest was definitely the only way to go. Your past doesn't definitely the person you are today with or without chemicals. Chances are they would have found out if you had not told them anyway and then let you go causing your situation to end up in worse shape than before you got the job. You will find the right one soon enough.

I don't blame. You Wanda

that should not be a problem okay...i can still help you out

Looking. For. A. Food. Service. Job

Find. Good. Job

The most important thing to remember is that a job interview is a two way interview.
They screened themselves out. Do you really want to work for s place that wojld rule out someone with your level understanding?
Move on and find a place where you will fit in
