Finding the right job at 63
Had a great job that I thought was for life. Recently a competitor acquired our company and immediately laid off nearly all personnel. Now I'm back in the hunt for the right job. I've had great success in my career but am having trouble gaining any traction in my search. After 8 months of online applications and job search, I've had absolutely zero results. It has been over 20 years since my last search and there must be a secret to achieve success other than the endless online application process that seems to be the trend! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I am sorry to hear this. The world is changing in rapid speed. Its funny, but I have physically went to locations for a job and they have requested for me to apply online. Ever thought of going to a TEMP agency? Also, try to use words in your resume that the computer will pick up for the employer. Employers are now only looking at the resumes that the computer tell them to look at.
