Military Application Only?

Do I need to be a military vet to qualify for a government job with the US Postal Service. They are hiring now and I want to apply but I heard they prefer hiring military veterans. I that the same for all government jobs?

Is it a seasonal job posting? I know they just started hiring for the holiday season rush. No you don't have to be in the military to work for the post office.

Ben, I've heard that before but that’s a misguided myth from the past. All you need to do is apply and pass the civil service test.

Priority hiring is given to vets like many other private companies but you don't necessarily have to be a vet to qualify.
