Really down

I have been unemployed for four months have been constantly putting in applications online for weeks now . I have only one Interview. I am really not liking being unemployed. Just wish someone would give me a chance. I have many 36 years of work experience in customer service, cooking, problem-solving engineer, and a jack of all trades. Not a single employer that I applied for will give me a chance.

Job searching is a challenge indeed..but do not despair! The job market is very competitive as you have to go against others seeking employment with alot of skills and competences! But keep trying and also focus on your main area of expertise....it helps and also through freinds can be another Avenue of job seeking..good luck!

Hi Steven, I'm in the same boat as you, I've been looking since May. I have 35 years as a Field Service Engineer. I'm in Texas and the job market here is tough. I have had a few interviews and have come to find out from speaking with the HR reps that they have over 50 Applicants. Some of the jobs I was a perfect fit for they transferred someone internally to fill the position. The other issue is the pay, when they find out how much I'm used to making they are afraid to hire me thinking I will leave when a better job offer comes along. Right now I'm working part time for 6 different companies. It pays the bills while I'm search for that elusive permanent full time job. Keep your hopes up and keep applying. Best of luck to you.

Steven, it isn't you. Colorado Springs is desperate on jobs right now. We had over 20,000 people move into the Springs in the past few years, but very few jobs opened up. Trust me, I just moved from there. I'm now living in Maricopa Arizona, and I had 4 call backs within a week.

I've been hunting for 13 months and probably close to your age. Get in contact with the PPWFC in El Paso County. http://www.ppwfc.org/ Work their programs for tuning up interview skills or adding skills to help widen the job possibilities. Wash Rinse Repeat... Never give up!

For me it has been 18 months of the same. I have had a few more interviews, but no one is hiring me. My life is worthless.
